MISSION & VISION
"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." - Martin Luther King, Jr.
At Evergreen Middle School, we provide a safe, inclusive environment where students engage in an authentic, cultural, and inquiry-based exploration of the world in order to become agents of change.
We work collaboratively with all stakeholders to offer:
Vocabulary Instruction and Interdisciplinary Literacy.
At Evergreen, we believe that language and literacy have the power to heal, inspire and lead students to become agents of change in their lives and beyond. Students read relevant, engaging, self-selected texts that inspire them to think deeply, reflect and grow. We aim to empower students to be critical readers. We want them to be able to see themselves in the texts they read resulting in authentic writing which demonstrates strong voice and purpose.
Amplify ELA is a blended English language arts curriculum designed specifically to support students in grades 6–8 and prepare them for high school and beyond. With Amplify ELA, students learn to tackle any complex text and make observations, grapple with interesting ideas, and find relevance for themselves.
